Indonesia’s dry season is from April to November, wet season from November to March. We went at the end of August and the weather was great.

London Heathrow – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Jakarta, Java, Indonesia Saudia Airlines 6-7h + 2-3h at the Jeddah airport + 10h

Jakarta – Labuan Bajo, Flores Komodo International Airport

Labuan Bajo, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara province

Labuan Bajo, a town at the Flores island is a tourist centre for the region. It is a gateway to Komodo National Park boat tours, to nearby isles and diving sites.

Pu’u Pau Hostel & Coffee Shop

Very nice hotel with very helpful and attentive staff - whatever you need just ask them! The room was very clean and comfortable with a small balcony. The location is perfect. 10 mins to the airport by bike.

Green Hill Boutique Hotel & Hostel

Restaurant De Waroeng, Labuan Bajo

Unfortunately, we haven’t found any vegan restaurant in Labuan Bajo, but it’s only a matter of time for sure! We went to De Waroeng, which offers vegetarian and vegan options of Indonesian dishes. To be honest, it was more about the place than the food – an open space with a fantastic view and a nice vibe. However, what we ordered was quite good (fried tempeh and tofu, rice with vegetables, and noodles).

Obviously, the best place for us to get food was a street market opposite Dermaga Wisata Kampung Ujung (the pier at Ujung village). Plantains, wild baby bananas, and coconuts.

Islands

We booked a boat from Komodo Village for 3 days and stay at the village. There is a cheaper option to get to the village – a public boat but it leaves Labuan Bajo 2-3 times a week and the journey takes 4-5hrs.
